Why We Built This Site
Michigan gives the public real access to court records, but access is not the hard part. Knowing which office holds the record you want is. A warrant touches more than one place. The court that issues it sets the charge and the bond, while the Sheriff's Office serves it and can say whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant for a missed court date usually stays with the court that set the case, which may be the district court, the Circuit Court, or the family bench.
Michigan also has no public statewide warrant portal to sort all of that out. The state police criminal-history service, ICHAT, is a public records check, and it expressly leaves warrant information out. So a person can check one office, find nothing, and walk away thinking the matter is closed when the file simply lives somewhere else. We collected the search forms, phone numbers, counter hours, fees, and request steps for each office, and wrote them down in plain words.
What You Will Find Here

- Outstanding warrants: how to check for outstanding warrants in a county that publishes no roster, and what an open status actually means
- Missed court dates: how a bench warrant search works after a skipped appearance, including the state's 48-hour rule
- Charge-based warrants: how an arrest warrant search runs from complaint to service, and what the issuing court holds
- City routes: how Saginaw, Frankenmuth, and Zilwaukee police records differ from county court records
- Records requests: the court record request, the county FOIA form, and the city FOIA routes that apply to the records each office holds
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Michigan court, the Saginaw County Sheriff's Office, or any city police department. There are firm limits on what we can help with:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm whether a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot accept a payment toward a bond, a fine, or a court fee
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-in appearance
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a warrant applies to a specific person
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or counter hour on this site is current today
Only the court that issued the warrant or the office that holds it can confirm whether it is still open, has been recalled, or has been served. We can point you to that office, but the answer comes from the office itself.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site carry a search box that a third-party provider powers. Those companies run their own services and set their own prices. When a search leads to a paid signup, we may receive a referral fee, and that revenue keeps the site free to read. We do not control what a partner charges or what its results contain, and a partner result is not an official warrant check.
